Weir Farm National Historic Site is the only National Park dedicated to American painting and was established to preserve a significant site of American Impressionism and maintain a setting of artistic expression while offering opportunities for inspirations and education.
To date 150 artists from throughout the U.S. and internationally have participated. We live in an old cottage that used to provide shelter for the itinerant caretakers of the estate. Only one artist at a time, living within the natural beauty of the park and working in a state of the art studio space among the trees.
This was an idyllic month of intense work in preparation for my exhibit 'Beastiary' at Maud Morgan Center for the Arts in January of 2016. This quality time alone gave me space to process my experiences from China and my new directions with my sculptures.
